MTN Uganda profit rises 21% to Sh18.2 billion in nine months

MTN Uganda reported net profit of Sh18.2 billion for the nine months ended September, a 21.2% increase year on year. It had earned Sh15 billion in the same period a year earlier. The rise was helped by the absence of a Ush111 billion tax payment, equivalent to Sh3.5 billion, made the previous year. The telecom operator is listed on the Uganda Securities Exchange and has Kenyan investors among its owners.
