Murder of Cheikh Touré: two suspects confess and reveal the mastermind of the network

Suspects Salifu Walid and Aziz Wadrago Mane, arrested on September 20, 2026, in Banpanase, admitted their involvement in a cross-border criminal network that used fake football recruiters to lure victims, including Senegalese goalkeeper Cheikh Touré. They identified the mastermind, Noukoubri Arzouma Sylvain alias « Prince Pierre », and an accomplice named Barry, both on the run. After Touré's death, the kidnappers sent a photo of the victim to his family, then moved two other Senegalese youths to Ivory Coast before heading to Bamako, as investigations continue to apprehend other network members.
