Murray-Bruce to President Tinubu: Decentralise power system in Nigeria

Former Senator Ben Murray-Bruce has urged President Bola Tinubu to adopt a more decentralized approach to electricity generation and distribution in Nigeria. In an open letter, he highlighted the gap between installed generation capacity and available electricity, citing 13,625 MW of installed capacity in April, with only 4,286 MW available. He also criticized the 2013 electricity sector privatization, stating it did not deliver the transformation Nigerians expected.
