MUSFACT-CI’s New Board Reveals Its Ambitions and Launches Awareness Tours

The Social Mutual Fund for Civil Servants and Local Authority Employees of Côte d’Ivoire (MUSFACT-CI) aims to strengthen its presence in the field and expand its membership. Its new Board of Directors held its first meeting on October 30, 2026, at Yopougon town hall, chaired by Léon Gbétry Kouassi. Board members adopted a program of information and awareness tours for local authority staff, starting in Abobo and Anyama. Executive Secretary Poté De Paris presented a schedule of visits across the country.

Libya's top religious authority rules against wearing Nike clothes

Dar al-Ifta, Libya’s highest religious authority, has issued a fatwa forbidding Muslims from buying, selling or wearing clothing bearing the Nike logo. The Tripoli-based institution says the brand is named after the Greek goddess of victory and that its swoosh evokes her wings, making it a symbol associated with polytheism. Approved by Grand Mufti Sadiq al-Gharyani, the ruling also accuses Nike of supporting Israel and urges a boycott of companies that back the country. It is not a government ban and specifies no penalties.

TikTok Dance: Feminist Group Condemns Arrest of Three Women in Kano

FemDigital Watch condemned the Kano State Hisbah Board’s arrest of TikTok creator Amani Ishaq and Hauwa Khamis and Sa’adatu Muhammad over dance videos posted on social media. The three women were arraigned at Magistrate Court No. 5 in Kano on allegations related to public morality and religious guidelines. The collective described the arrests as part of a pattern of suppressing women’s creative expression and cited Section 39 of Nigeria’s Constitution and the country’s obligations under the Maputo Protocol. It demanded immediate access to lawyers, equitable bail terms and an end to arbitrary surveillance and arrests of female creators.
