Mysterious Disappearance of Pilgrim Mamadou Mbodji in Saudi Arabia

Mamadou Mbodji, a 74-year-old Senegalese pilgrim, disappeared on August 19, 2026, during the Sa’i ritual between Safa and Marwa in Mecca, after being seen around 6:27 PM. The Senegalese General Delegation for Pilgrimage, the Senegalese consulate, and Saudi authorities have launched intensive searches, including visits to hospitals, morgues, and public places. The disappearance was reported on August 18, and all efforts are ongoing to locate him. The DGP, responsible for Hajj, does not oversee Umrah organized by private operators but is closely monitoring the search efforts coordinated by Senegalese authorities in Saudi Arabia.
