NAMA defends ILS project, rejects N7.58bn waste claim

The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, NAMA, dismissed a report claiming it wasted N7.58 billion on Instrument Landing Systems (ILS) for Lagos and Abuja airports. The approved contract for the supply and installation of ILS and Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) was N1,188,139,913.90. NAMA emphasized that the N7.58 billion figure originated from a 2019 erroneous estimate and noted that safety issues with the CAT III system had been reported since its installation.
