Nasarawa govt orders evacuation of mining company over alleged security, operational violations

The Nasarawa State Government has ordered the immediate shutdown of Lideal Mines Company due to security concerns and repeated violations of agreements with the host community. Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Margaret Elayo, announced that the company must withdraw all equipment and personnel from the mining site. This decision aligns with ongoing reforms by Governor Abdullahi Sule aimed at repositioning the mining sector to deliver direct benefits to local communities.
