National Dialogue: C64 Conditions Participation on Rejection of Constitutional Reform Project

On July 9, 2026, the C64 Coalition in Kinshasa stated it will only participate in a political dialogue if President Félix Tshisekedi publicly and definitively renounces his constitutional reform project. Jean-Marc Kabund, speaking for the C64, said the war is a tragic consequence of a systemic crisis in Congo. The coalition believes previous initiatives failed because they addressed only military and diplomatic dimensions. Burundian President Évariste Ndayishimiye urged dialogue and national cohesion.
