National Family Planning Week 2026: 100,000 women targeted for awareness

The second edition of the National Family Planning Week (SNPF), coinciding with World Contraception Day, was officially launched on September 30, 2026, in Bingerville, led by Minister Pierre Dimba. The campaign aims to raise awareness among women, couples, and youth, targeting 100,000 women. The Minister emphasized that family planning should be a free, informed, and accessible choice, with free contraceptive services in public facilities. In 2025, family planning efforts reportedly prevented 640,000 unwanted pregnancies, 200,000 risky abortions, and over 1,600 maternal deaths.
