Nigeria’s national grid supply fell to 675MW at 1pm on Monday from 3,647MW at noon after multiple trips on the 330-kilovolt transmission network. Azura, Egbin, Jebba and Kainji were among the plants that went offline; supply later recovered to 2,150MW by 5pm. Abuja Electricity Distribution Company and Ikeja Electric warned customers of supply constraints, while system operator NISO said corrective measures with TCN had stabilised the grid and restored normal operations.
