The Director-General of the Cross River State Emergency Management Agency, Mr. Efa Nyong, disclosed that 347 people have been made homeless due to natural disasters and human activities. This includes 167 individuals affected by mudslides in Calabar and about 180 internally displaced persons due to heavy rainfall in the Central Senatorial District. Nyong also highlighted the devastating impact of fires on properties and called for increased awareness on disaster prevention.
