NCAA bans pilot who landed plane on Delta road

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has banned the pilot-in-command of the aircraft that landed on a road in Delta State in June 2026 from operating in Nigerian airspace until the investigation is completed. The aircraft, a private jet with registration N989BC operated by VMO Aero Ltd, had four crew members on board and subsequently departed for Lagos without regulatory approval. The first officer has also been suspended. NCAA Director General Captain Chris Najomo stated that the aircraft is grounded, its Permit for Non-Commercial Flight (PNCF) is suspended, and the State Security Service (DSS) is involved in the investigation.
