NCC moves to make digital educational platforms data-free nationwide

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has initiated moves to zero-rate approved digital educational platforms nationwide, removing data costs barriers. A public consultation in Abuja gathered stakeholders including government agencies, mobile operators, and civil society to shape the policy framework. The initiative aims to improve digital learning access for millions of students, aligning with the Nigeria Education Sector Renewal Initiative (NESRI). The framework will also address quality, child safety, data privacy, and inclusion for persons with disabilities.
