NCCE charges South-East teachers training colleges on quality, dual mandate implementation

The National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) has urged the government and stakeholders in the South-East to focus on training quality teachers. Executive Secretary Dr Angela Ajala noted that the South-East has just over 10 Colleges of Education, compared to over 30 in other regions, and emphasized the need to improve teacher training quality, including digital skills and practical competencies. She called for a reorientation of teacher education to meet modern demands, equipping students with entrepreneurial and digital skills, and enabling graduates to obtain recognized certifications and diverse career opportunities.
