NCIC Summons Former MP Reuben Ndolo Over Remarks at Nairobi Church

Kenya’s National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) summoned former Makadara MP Reuben Ndolo to answer questions on October 26 at 2 p.m. about remarks he made at a church service in Donholm, Nairobi, on October 18. Ndolo said he had mobilised young people in Busia, Luanda and Bondo ahead of the first anniversary memorial for former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, and spoke of disagreements among leaders and the treatment of Ida Odinga. The commission warned that failure to attend could lead to an arrest warrant or criminal or contempt proceedings. The summons is part of a broader series of NCIC investigations into political remarks over possible hate speech and ethnic incitement, ahead of Kenya’s 2027 general election.

Bongani Shabangu, the DBE’s acting deputy director-general for infrastructure, said the department had asked National Treasury to redirect funding it considered excessive for the available projects. Umalusi acknowledged financial compliance failures that contributed to its loss of clean audit status.
