Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has written to National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula requesting an emergency sitting to discuss proposals to lower fuel prices by Ksh27 per litre. This request comes ahead of a national strike planned for May 18 by matatu operators and other motorists in response to a significant fuel price hike announced by the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority. Nyoro has also proposed abolishing certain taxes on petroleum products to ease the financial burden on Kenyans.
