NDLEA destroys illicit drugs worth N2.8bn in Edo

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) destroyed 73,463.21 kilograms of illicit drugs worth N2.8 billion in Edo State, Nigeria. The substances, mainly cannabis sativa (73,210.23 kg) and psychotropic substances (246.36 kg), were incinerated at Idogbo following a Federal High Court order in Benin City. NDLEA Commander Mitchell Ofoyeju detailed seizures including tramadol, diazepam, codeine, methamphetamine, cocaine, and heroin from operations targeting vehicles, cannabis farms, and warehouses. NDLEA Chairman Brigadier General Mohammed Buba Marwa praised Governor Monday Okpebholo's support and the officers' bravery.
