Nepal: Dozens of Houses Destroyed by New Flood, Two Months After August Disaster

A sudden flood swept away between 35 and 40 houses in Gorkha district, Nepal, on October 11, 2026, after a landslide blocked the Budhi Gandaki River. Several bridges were destroyed, and evacuations were carried out in multiple villages including Arughat following alerts from authorities. This event comes two months after a devastating flood in August that resulted in over 1,450 deaths and the destruction of around 7,500 homes.
