New Community Infrastructure Inaugurated in Kanyabayonga with MONUSCO Funding

The town of Kanyabayonga, located between Lubero and Rutshuru, now has a fruit market, a community mill, and public lighting systems funded by MONUSCO through a quick impact project. Inaugurated on October 5, 2026, by the NGO AVSD, these facilities address concerns raised by local women vendors since 2022, who previously sold their products along dangerous roads. The infrastructure aims to improve working and trading conditions, especially for women, including the construction of a market hangar, installation of streetlights, and beneficiary awareness sessions.
