New tiger cat species identified in Bolivia, first in over a century

A new wild cat species, named Leopardus tilcayo, has been identified in Bolivia's cloud forests, marking the first formal description of a new feline species in over a century. Measuring 46 cm long and weighing about 1.4 kg, this cat has light brown fur with irregular rosettes. Little is known about its biology, but scat samples suggest it may feed on small rodents and could be more active at night.
