Niamey relaunches uranium exploitation and aims to attract new investments

Niger has announced the relaunch of its uranium industry, including a new mining agreement between the government and Australian group Atomic Eagle, which owns 60% of the Madaouela project in the north. Atomic Eagle plans to accelerate development and begin construction within about two years. Additionally, Niamey signed an agreement with the US DFC for up to $414 million in funding for the Dasa uranium project by Global Atomic, aiming to boost mineral resource revenues and attract new investments in the uranium sector.
