Niger: Gunfire in Niamey, military regime claims to have regained control of sensitive sites

Defense Minister General Salifou Mody announced that a group of soldiers attempted to take control of sensitive areas in Niamey, leading to gunfire exchanges around the international airport and the presidency. Defense forces managed to contain this unrest, while military deployments were observed around the presidential palace. No official casualty report from the clashes has been released yet.
