Niger miners death will never be repeated - FG reels out 'mandates' to probe committee

Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo stated that the federal government will ensure that a tragedy like the death of 37 illegal miners never happens again in Nigeria. An independent 10-member committee has been inaugurated to investigate the circumstances surrounding their deaths while in custody of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Minna, Niger State. Tunji-Ojo emphasized that the committee must remain free from interference and outlined 12 mandates to guide the investigation.
