Niger: nearly 200 million dollar IMF aid program

The IMF has reached a preliminary agreement with Niger for a aid program of approximately $203 million over three years to support economic reforms. Despite the military junta's focus on Russia and economic autonomy, Niger continues to work with the IMF, which advocates fiscal orthodoxy and market opening. The 38-month extended credit facility (ECF) agreement, pending approval by the IMF's board, aims to consolidate macroeconomic stability and implement the government's development strategy for 2025-2029.
