Nigeria: A $552 Million Plan to Revolutionize Education

Nigeria launches HOPE-EDU, a $552 million education program financed by the World Bank and the Global Partnership for Education. It will benefit 29 million children, 500,000 teachers, 65,000 public schools, and 10,000 non-formal learning centers. President Bola Tinubu says the program aims to accelerate reforms, improve teaching conditions, and provide access to quality basic education. Nigeria faces a shortage of qualified teachers, insufficient infrastructure, and a high rate of out-of-school children.
