Nigeria and a Counterfeit Democracy

Democracy in Nigeria is portrayed as a farce, where elections are manipulated by cartels and corrupt elites. Institutions are weakened, and leaders are accountable only to their personal interests, leaving the populace in ignorance and poverty. Elections, although held, do not ensure accountability, and the consequences of bad governance are non-existent. Corruption and favoritism dominate the political landscape, turning citizens into mere spectators of their own exploitation.
