Nigeria, Benin Customs strengthen border security with geospatial tech

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and its Benin counterpart have strengthened their partnership to deploy geospatial technology to enhance economic security, improve border surveillance, and facilitate legitimate trade along their shared border corridor. The collaboration was highlighted during a meeting at the ECOWAS Conference Hall at the Seme-Krake Joint Border Post. Comptroller Abdullahi Kaila described the initiative as a major milestone for border management and combating smuggling. Deputy Comptroller Labaran Ahmed stated that the tool will identify vulnerable points and enable strategic deployment of field officers.
