Nigeria: Billionaire Abdulsamad Rabiu receives first Bombardier Global 8000 jet on African continent

Nigerian conglomerate BUA Group received the first Bombardier Global 8000 delivered in Africa, announced by Canadian manufacturer Bombardier on June 16, 2026. The jet is intended for international travel of the conglomerate founded by billionaire Abdulsamad Rabiu (estimated net worth $19 billion) and can fly direct from Lagos to Los Angeles, Tokyo, and Perth. The Global 8000, which entered service in late 2025, has a top speed of Mach 0.95 and a range of 14,800 km. BUA Group becomes the first African operator of Bombardier's flagship model.
