Nigeria, Canada to set up joint team over visa delays

The Federal Government of Nigeria and the Government of Canada have agreed to establish a joint technical working group to address persistent delays in processing Canadian visa applications by Nigerians. Mary Ali from the Ministry of Interior stated that these delays have particularly affected Nigerian students, who have sometimes been unable to travel to start their academic programs. The meeting also discussed the expansion of the Air Transport Agreement between Nigeria and Canada, aimed at facilitating direct flights between the two countries.
