The Lagos State High Court in Ikoyi approved an inquest into the death of Nkanu Esege, son of Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, despite his body being cremated. Justice Aishat Opesanwo dismissed Eurapharma Care Services Nigeria Limited's request to halt the inquiry, stating that the cremation did not prevent the inquest and that it was a statutory obligation under Lagos law. The court also ruled that the absence of the body did not make the investigation speculative, allowing the inquest to proceed.
