The Federal High Court in Abuja granted a protective measure for a prosecution witness in the trial of an army general and five others charged with plotting a coup against President Bola Tinubu. Judge Joyce Abdulmalik justified the decision for security reasons. The defendants, including retired Major-General Mohammed Ibrahim Gana, pleaded not guilty to charges of treason and terrorism during their arraignment on April 22.
