Nigeria: Four Teenagers Die in Boat Capsize

On September 23, 2026, around 4 p.m., a boat capsized on Dudduru pond in Jigawa State, Nigeria. Eight people, including four teenage girls, were traveling from Kwadige village to Chai Chai Sabuwa market when the accident occurred, likely due to strong wind gusts. Four individuals were rescued, and the bodies of the teenagers Hasiya Mu’azu, Hauwa Lawan, Fatima Lawan, and Dawsiyya Lawan were recovered and handed over to their families. The NSCDC commander urged caution on waterways due to weather conditions.
