Nigeria has recently joined the Red Sea Alliance, a maritime security coalition led by Saudi Arabia, highlighting the country's reactive and sentimental approach to foreign policy. Despite being Africa's most populous country and having a large Muslim population, Nigeria has failed to develop a coherent strategy to leverage its relationships with the Middle East. Internal divisions have hindered the country's ability to exploit strategic opportunities in the region, unlike other nations such as Ethiopia and Rwanda.
