Nigeria Records First Ebola Case as Kenya's Infections Rise to 9

Nigeria confirmed its first Ebola case in the Federal Capital Territory: a woman who arrived on an international flight from Uganda has been isolated and is receiving treatment. Nigerian authorities identified 44 close contacts and began contact tracing. Kenya’s Ebola Bundibugyo outbreak has reached nine cases, all in one known cluster, with no transmission detected outside it; 134 of 135 identified contacts have been traced and quarantined. Uganda says the woman transited through the country without symptoms after travelling to eastern DRC, while the site of exposure remains under investigation.
