Donald Duke, former governor of Cross River State and presidential candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party, stated that Nigeria should supply crude oil for domestic refining at its production cost. He emphasized that by-products like diesel and kerosene could help reduce petrol costs. Duke also noted that Nigeria requires about 300,000 barrels of crude daily for domestic consumption out of an estimated production of 1.7 million barrels.
