Nigerian Army chief promises improved welfare for 4 Brigade troops

Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, praised the professionalism and operational performance of 4 Brigade troops during his first visit to their headquarters in Benin City. He promised to renovate soldiers’ accommodation, provide a new bus and improve access to medical care for personnel and their families. Shaibu urged the troops to remain disciplined and operate within the law while respecting civilians’ rights in Edo State. Brigade commander Brigadier General Ahmed Balogun briefed him on the security situation and the formation’s administrative and logistical challenges.
