Nigerian army thwarts terrorists' plot to cause havoc in Zamfara, Katsina

The Nigerian Army neutralized 9 terrorists, including 2 key figures, and seized 4 AK-47 rifles and 9 motorcycles during operations conducted from May 1 to May 3, 2026, in Katsina and Zamfara states. Troops engaged terrorists along the Turare–Yantumaki Road, neutralizing 4 and recovering weapons and ammunition. In a separate operation in Zamfara, 7 terrorists, including two notorious kingpins, were neutralized, and one soldier lost his life during the clashes.
