Nigerian man jailed after storing over 50 bags of human faeces outside home

A court in northern Nigeria sentenced Mohammed Saidu to two weeks in prison and a fine of 100,000 naira for storing over 50 bags of human feces outside his home in Kano. Saidu, who empties septic tanks, intended to sell the waste as fertilizer. Neighbors, led by Samaila Inuwa and local chief Musa Abdullahi, complained about the unbearable stench. Magistrate Halima Wali ordered the removal of the waste after inspecting the property.
