Nigeria’s GDP rises 4.4% as oil sector rebounds

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported that Nigeria's economy grew by 4.43% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026, up from 4.2% in the same quarter of 2025. The oil sector recorded a growth of 7.31%, with an average daily production of 1.72 million barrels per day. The services sector contributed 56.62% to the total GDP, while agriculture and industry also showed signs of growth.
