NLC Lists 59 Parcels for SGR Phase 2B Land Acquisition in Nyamira

The National Land Commission (NLC) has issued notices for the compulsory acquisition of 59 land parcels in North Mugirango, Nyamira County, for the Naivasha-Kisumu-Malaba Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) phases 2B and C. The acquisition, under Section 110 of the Land Act, aims to support the construction of this multi-billion-shilling railway project. Interested parties can inspect the affected land plans at Nairobi's Ardhi House or Nyamira County offices. Kenya Railways has allocated KSh25 billion for land compensation, with construction already underway in several sections, expected to be largely completed by June 2027, including stations in Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Nyamira, Homa Bay, and Kisumu.
