‘No GMT+1 Under Benkirane’: PJD Prepares Pledges to Return to Power

The Justice and Development Party (PJD) is preparing its pledges to return to government in 2026, promising to abolish GMT+1 if it wins the elections. Abdelilah Benkirane, Secretary General of PJD, stated that the decision to scrap daylight saving time is motivated by the toll it takes on citizens' mental and physical health. A petition has already collected over 343,620 signatures in support of this abolition.
