No New Program Set, the Latest Announcements from the IMF for Senegal

Senegalese authorities have begun discussions with multiple creditors to address their increasing external public debt, with an initial meeting scheduled for October 6 to present their reform program. Following a service-level agreement with the IMF in September, the country is awaiting its presentation to the IMF's Board of Directors. IMF spokesperson Julie Kozack stated that the IMF supports Senegal's reform efforts, including fiscal sustainability and debt management, during a press conference. Preliminary bilateral meetings have led to the formation of an official creditor committee, and a meeting with external creditors is planned for October 6.
