The Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Iziaq Adekunle Salako, declared that no woman should die of cervical cancer, describing it as preventable and treatable. At the launch of a cervical cancer screening program in Imo State, he emphasized the importance of regular screening and awareness. Salako also noted that Nigeria has vaccinated about 15 women against the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) over the past three years, a figure reportedly three times what the entire African continent achieved during the same period.
