Nominated Taita Taveta MCA Margaret Kawuki Dies

Margaret Kawuki, a nominated Jubilee Party member of the Taita Taveta County Assembly, has died. She was serving her first term after being nominated on the party ticket in the 2022 general election. Jubilee Party Secretary General Moitalel Ole Kenta confirmed her death on October 29 and described her as a dedicated public servant and champion of democracy, equality and women’s rights. Before joining the assembly, she served on the Taita Taveta County Education Fund board and the tourism board.

FSNC suspension: PCRN asks Atanga Nji to reconsider his decision

Following the October 27 order suspending the National Salvation Front of Cameroon (FSNC) for three months, the PCRN called for calm and said the measure should be assessed in light of sociopolitical tensions and distrust of institutions. INEC Steps Up Efforts to Address Electoral Risks in Abia

Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has stepped up preparations for the 2027 general elections in Abia State. At a sensitisation workshop in Umuahia, Resident Electoral Commissioner Prof. Sylvia Agu stressed the need to identify threats early and coordinate stakeholders to protect peaceful polls and public confidence.
