North Kivu: Fear grips Kayna after three FRN members are assassinated

Fear has gripped Kayna, in Lubero territory in North Kivu, since three members of the Front for the Refoundation of the Nation (FRN) were killed on October 18, including communal secretary Anselme Kinduvuira. The movement reportedly launched an operation to search for those responsible. During the night of October 27–28, a young motorcycle taxi driver was killed and at least seven young men were arrested in a sweep and transferred to Kasando. Residents are restricting their movements or temporarily leaving their homes over fears of further arrests.
