NPFL sanctions Warri Wolves over security breach against Kano Pillars

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) sanctioned Warri Wolves after their supporters behaved unruly during Sunday’s Matchday 10 game against Kano Pillars in Ozoro. The club was fined ₦4.2 million and docked three points and three goals from its tally. Its next three home matches will be played behind closed doors after the league found that stadium security was inadequate and match officials were assaulted after the final whistle. The NPFL said the second assistant referee suffered a nose injury and was left bleeding; Warri Wolves has 48 hours to appeal.
