NSCDC removes Niger commandant over deaths of 30 illegal miners, begins investigation

The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, ordered the removal of the Niger State Commandant and initiated a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths of over 30 illegal miners in custody. This decision follows a directive from the Minister of Interior, Tunji Ojo. The CG assured that any personnel found to have acted contrary to the law would face appropriate sanctions.
