NSIB probes private jet after door falls mid-air

A private jet operated by Triton Aviation lost a door mid-air on Thursday while heading to Lagos, then made an emergency landing at Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport. The crew issued a distress call when the aircraft was about three nautical miles from the airport and climbing through 3,000 feet. It landed safely on Runway 22, and a controller later observed that the door was missing. The NSIB said the door had been recovered and that it had opened an investigation into the incident.
