Nurses at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) have been on strike for two days, paralyzing operations at the country's largest public referral facility. They are protesting against delayed salary payments, casualization of staff, and difficulties in accessing pension benefits. Despite efforts by Acting CEO Dr. Richard Lesiyampe to persuade them to return to work, the nurses walked out of the meeting without an agreement. Currently, KNH has 2,300 nurses, below the recommended 2,800, leading to increased workloads.
