Obama responds to Trump’s midterm setback: “Americans want concrete solutions”

Barack Obama responded on November 4, 2026, after Republicans lost control of Congress in the U.S. midterm elections. In a post on X, he said Americans wanted politics that brought people together and leaders who offered concrete solutions. Preliminary results showed Democrats retaking both chambers, gaining seven Senate seats and 25 in the House of Representatives, with some races still undecided. Obama praised Democratic candidates, including Amy Acton, Josh Turek and James Talarico, whom he had endorsed and who all won.
